With Love, from Mom
December 20, 2007

My mom sent this to me yesterday, showing off her mad Photoshop skills; a collage of my brother and I back in the day, and pics of Kai and Alaeshya (my brother’s daughter). Funny how similar Kai and my brother look.
He Ate
December 18, 2007
We are on a ROLL! Kai cleared his plate at dinner tonight for the first time in weeks–and no, the meal was not another burger (so what if I bought him a burger two days in a row?!), but an actual decent meal of spinach & mushroom quiche, frozen peas, and cucumber sticks with hummus.
Speaking of food, I am just absolutely dying here on my sans-chocolate-and-dairy diet (Dax has shown an intolerance to both). I always feel unsatisfied and crabby as H-E-double hockeysticks. This is how smokers must feel when they quit.
He Stopped
December 17, 2007
Mark this day. Because Kai, who started to chase down a tractor/lawnmower monstrosity at the park today, stopped dead in his tracks when I yelled out “STOP!”
As of late, I’ve been lamenting to Ryan and my friends that I must not be raising my child right because he does not listen to me, so today was definitely a parenting milestone. Yay me.
I should also mention that I think this 1-2-3 Magic thing I recently started may be working.
Yay child psychologists.

And I should mention that he rolled over the other day (though it was a one-hit-wonder). I birth ‘em cute and strong!
Thanks, Amy, for taking these pics!
