I’m not big into Korean lounge music, but guys like this restore my faith in humanity. Don’t miss the grand finale.

It’s a miracle, really, that they were all so willing to pose for this pic!

Hunting for Eggs
March 27, 2008

Kai had his systematic way of egg-hunting down pat; find egg, crack open, dump goodies into basket, move on. He was a natural.
Thanks, Lindy and Jay for putting this on! Kai kept asking for “Lindy? Jaaaay?” the day you two left. When I told him that you guys went home, he went on to ask for “Ranmaaa? Randpaw?” He also keeps asking for candy, on like, an hourly basis.

Moving away is always so difficult. No, not us, but my really good friend Amy and her son Noah. I’ll definitely be missing my much-needed dose of fun, sarcastic humor.
We’re going to really, really miss you guys. But for now, I’m still in denial.

Translation: “I love you, Mama.”
The perfect antidote to yet another week of sickness and non-stop whininess. And the hugs from him are icing on the cake.

Trash Man?
March 9, 2008

Actually, ever since he was a babe, I’ve always secretly hoped that Kai would follow in my footsteps and pursue a creative career like art or design, photography, or even architecture. Because, ya know, it’s in his blood.
As for Dax, we think he’s going to be the musical one (after dad, of course).

A hefty 16 lbs. This boy sent my wrist into a brace!
Sorry, the annoying noise in the background is Sesame Street. Yeah, should’ve thought to turn that off.
Kirk Update-Mundane Post-Blah blah blah
March 1, 2008
It’s been a while. We were sick all last week (along with the entire city) and so not in the mood for outings and pictures. At the height of our illness, Ryan attended a 2-day work-related conference in San Diego while I toughed it out at home. I’m still emotionally scarred from that experience, so let’s move on.
Kai has seriously turned into a kid. I know technically he’s still a toddler, but when your child’s legs cease to look like chubby stumps and body proportions no longer resemble a bobble-head figure, you know babyhood is history. Yeah this age is difficult, but at the same time, I selfishly want him to stay little forever.

Dude, Mom, just lemme go camping with Dad already.
His latest thing is mini conversations. Sometimes with himself, but mostly with us. It’s so much fun to hear his answers to things like “Are you happy or sad?” or “Which do you like better? Thomas or GeoTrax?” And Ryan’s question one evening, “Who’s cuter; Kate or Hayley?” (to which Kai wisely responded with silence).

Hayley, girl, you send me mixed signals.
Dax is now four-months-old and is rolling onto his side, rolling from tummy to back, grabbing his feet and toys, and sitting by himself (propped by his arm) for a few seconds. He’s such a fun baby and I just love how social and smiley he is.

As for Ryan and I, we recently finished a huge design job for a friend of ours, creating the entire identity package for his start-up company along with some marketing material. Glad to be done (for now) burning the midnight oil.
