Adjusting, bit by bit

July 23, 2011

Anyone else suffering in the south or east coast? This heat wave is brutal!

Random pics of us downtown, the kids’ mood swings, our hunt for a good Mexican joint, and my attempt at the summer turban thing. Dax immediately cracked up, said I looked funny, and that scarves are ‘for shirts only, not heads.’

the heat is CRAZY. In the water or indoors is pretty much the only way to survive it.

We hit 105 here in Maryland today — brutal for someone who thinks it’s hot at 75!

I love the photos — cute little kidlet!

I think your turban looks very chic! And yes, suffering is a great way to describe living with this heat + humidity!

no, they keep including stories about the heat wave in the VC Star, but it seems awfully far away when you look out your window and 1/2 the time it’s overcast…

The heatwave is horrible… but for us in the south, it’s typical weather, not breaking till almost October!

Oh yes. Next time I’ve having a fall baby so we can actually get out of the house without a melt down (literally melting and screaming baby too).

This is the first year that I’ve hated living in NC in the summer! I hope you guys are able to survive it! <3

Bonjour from France! I stumbled across your website for the first time today (love your Polaroid magnets, by the way) and read that you are new to Charlotte and hunting a good Mexican restaurant. I lived in Charlotte before moving to France two years ago and highly recommend Salsa’s. It’s the first place I go to eat when I visit my family. There are several locations, but I preferred the one in Matthews on Monroe Rd and the one on Carmel Rd off 51 in South Charlotte. Their salsa is to die for, with lots of cilantro, and the California burrito is amazing… I better stop before I get too homesick and hop a plane since there are no good Mexican restaurants here. Hope you and your family enjoy Charlotte!
