Your post had me thinking because my daughter has 3 older brothers to keep up with. I know that feeling about wanting you baby to continue being a baby and not a toddler... I don't know how I'd feel if she started crawling at 5 months...other than crazy! She's just 4 months now so I'm hoping she doesn't decide to start running at 6 months just to keep up with energetic siblings. My kids have always been so frightened to go up and thought them to be the funny anomaly (bless their hearts). I think our boys are similar however in that they're fiercely creative. Perhaps it's the quiet, artist's passion that makes them seek out solitude and/or privacy which can be interpreted as introversion. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and they simply don't want a bunch of strangers staring at them! Mer, I so needed this, thank you! Little O, of course takes cues from him and won't dare go up either. so yeah, a lot of drama on our pew while all the other joyful littles are singing and the happy parents are listening. And I heard the best talks this weekend as well. They focused on how mom's don't need to be perfect, to be "the perfect" mom. SO refreshing and I really appreciated that, as I hadn't ever really heard that slant on Mother's Day. SUCH a relief.
