Happy Valentines!

February 14, 2012

A little mixed-media project the boys and I worked on for family. One of those 11th hour sort of things. “Oh hey, let’s watercolor paper!” Then, “We can make heart stamps out of cork. So easy!” Which led to, “Hm, a papercut would be neat.” And eventually, “Ah! Let’s include some Polaroid magnets!” We probably could’ve gone on forever adding more elements.

A romantic date isn’t in the cards for us, but the next best thing is to have a Valentine’s party of course! My poor Dax…it’s been hard making friends here, especially for the little guy who isn’t in preschool this year because I’m no longer working (outside the home). He brought up how fun his class Valentine’s party was last year. So I thought, why not have a fun little party ourselves? An extra great excuse to pick up some macarons and treats from our favorite French bakery in town.

And up above was the entire “fleet” for Kai’s class. And last-minute tags — a detour from our original idea, because that’s what happens when your printer runs out of ink.
