Hungry Like the Wolf

Peach and crème fraîche pie, fried pickles (amazing), and chocolate frozen custard atop of cherry Italian ice. Gone are the days I couldn’t keep even a glass of water down!

I get the hungry like a wolf. I do.
And I also love custard and Italian ice! Must give the fried pickles a go.
Ritas! That stuff is awesome. We are going to be in Maryland from 24 Aug to 14 Sept. I suspect there will be some Rita’s damage done. Also, Tastykakes Butterscotch Krimpets and Herrs Crab Chips will suffer. You might also want to try Spiced Wafers in the Orange and Black box when they come out in the Fall. They are divine.
That pie pic is great! Looks yummy too!
Glad you got your appetite back!!
Wow that pie really does look fantastic. I’ve just been to my allotment (in the pouring Manchester rain) and picked some apples. Do you have a recipe for that pie? Just in case I ‘ve missed it i’ll keep reading.

oh LOVE the first photo!!! that pie looks so yummy!!!!!
Amanda, Rita’s is like a revelation. And why weren’t there any in CA? Are you guys just taking a little US holiday then heading back to Germany? We’ve been talking about a DC trip, maybe we can time it right and meet up with you guys.
Therese, the recipe is from the fab blog Smitten Kitchen. Link in post above. Enjoy!
we just discovered Rita’s here in Austin too and LOVE it. Man, those Gelatis are way too good.
Ha! I am in my second trimester as well and feel exactly the same. I have been going on crazy baking rampages. I don’t think my husband really minds much… :)
awesome and love that shirt of yours holding the peach pie!
Jenn, that pie looks amazing, you look amazing and look at that pretty white kitchen all spruced up with little pops of color. Your new pad looks amazing too! Moving is so hard…I have major empathy for you. But when the husband’s job is awesome, it really is worth it. I know the phrase is typically “when mama ain’t happy ain’t nobody happy”, but I feel you could insert “papa” in there too. I’m so happy to see you blogging again. Being sick is the PITS. I know…I get HG so I know all about throwing up water and starving and IV”s and having to take care of kids through it all. You are amazing and my hat goes off to you! xoxo
Seriously, that all looks good to me. I wish we lived a little closer so that you could share!!
Yum!!!! I tried Five Guys for the first time in Fresno last week and thought of you! Happy Eating! xoxo
Your pie looks amazing and I’m totally down for custard and Italian ice, but fried + pickles just don’t seem like a good combo. PS-You are such a cute pregnant lady!
