Naptime Rebellion

January 25, 2009

From inside his room, Kai screams, “I’m not going to nap! I’m not going to nap!”
(and goes on — ignored — for five minutes)

But then follows up, chanting:

“Never give up! Never give up!…
I’m not going to nap!”

Free-spirited with a tendency towards anarchism =
future leader (is what I tell myself).

You are so clever with the protest picture and Life magazine cover. How fitting! I thought it was the end of the world when my oldest started to phase out naptime. But then I discovered how blissful it was when he went to bed at night without any protest (and at 7pm). All day without a break is rough but…ahhh! It’s great to have my nights back.

Your Kai seems to be quite the little character!

Me and my husband had a good laugh last night when I told him about him not wanting to be baptized! Possibly the funniest thing a kid could say on their first day of primary!

    He sure is cute!

We’ve been nap-free for a little over a week now. Makes my day very long, but bedtime a lot more manageable.

    Love the chanting — maybe he’s Berkeley-bound…

Berkeley…there are a couple of Cal alums in the family that would be VERY happy with that. He can even drive around in a VW bug. And eat Blondie’s pizza.

I believe this is how all the great leaders of the world started out. With all the chanting, he was probably trying to get his little brother on board too. Watch out…

Very clever! Gotta love how kids deal with not getting what they want! My child..he just screams bloody murder…I’m thinking of investing in those ear muffs the guys directing airplanes use….

Naps are totally hit or miss with hannah now, I really miss the whole 2 hour naps, I’m still trying to enforce a ‘rest time’ but it’s challenging. -keely

Love the pictures that go along with this post. “never giveup” I wonder if he was trying to convince you or himself with that one :)
You’ll look back on these posts and remember all these daily moments that took place and cherish all the memories you preserved.
