Saturday Trip to Noah’s Ark

September 14, 2008

If you live near L.A., the Noah’s Ark exhibit at the Skirball definitely needs to be at the top of your “to do with the kids” list. It was such a hit with the boys. There’s an actual ark with climbing, interactive displays, crafts, animal puppets, even a drum show in the amphitheatre.

Okay, now this, this, cracks me up:

See, Kai does his bowel-movement bizness in his room, all over his room (when he should be napping), maybe four to five times a week. So, four to five times a week, you’ll find me on hands-and-knees picking up his mess, scrubbing the carpet, and cursing under my breath. The joys of potty-training! Yet, here’s Kai playing “excrement-handler” at the exhibit for fun (yes, there were pretend droppings all over the floor for kids to clean up). He probably spent a good fifteen minutes happily sweeping up plastic turds. The irony just kills me. Kills me.

That looks like a fun exhibit. I love the last picture with the curves and shadows.

Great pictures. That’s so funny about the sweeping. My kids are fascinated with poop – don’t know why. They like to say it, point it out during walks and talk about it. Gross!

PS: Love your hair. I’m tempted to get bangs but I don’t know if they’d look like yours.

that looks like a lot of fun! i love being removed from the whole traffic scene, but it would be nice to live closer to a big city and have options for fun, kid-friendly family activities!

Jenn this post was too funny. Sorry to hear about your potty training woes, but poop is just funny stuff. My little Jack has started asking “lellow or gween?” when we change his pants. We keep reminding him that poop is brown unless something’s wrong, but he continues to ask “lellow or gween?”

Keep your chin up and thanks for the tip about the Skirball.

Jenn, I just love your site. I’m friends with your in laws, and Shirley showed me your blog. I hope you don’t mind, but I added a link to it from my page. I’m trying to form a community of creative moms.
    Thanks! Candice

    You crack me up! ha.

I’ve never heard of this exhibit. Looks neat, especially the plastic poop. Probably what your kids will remember the most about it someday:-)
