Relief Society Christmas Party Invites

December 7, 2008

Without getting into how long I procrastinated these and how late I stayed up last night putting fifty of these together (cutting paper down from parent sheets by hand really bites), here are the invitations I designed for this year’s Relief Society Christmas dinner.

Our RS President wanted the focus to be more spiritual than feast. Dinner involved a salad, and different types of soups served in bread bowls (play off the ‘Bread of Life’ theme). As appetizers, we had spinach dip (also in bread bowls) already set out on the tables. Having this dinner at a sister’s home made for an intimate evening. Dessert was peppermint ice cream pie.

Those are super cute and put to shame the invitations I made for Primary. I was wondering, where did you get your “We Are LDS” button? I would like to put something like that on my blog.

    Thanks!

    Hi Jenn.
I found your blog somewhere awhile back and haven’t commented yet. Probably should, since it’s nice to know who your blog readers are. Anyways, those invites are gorgeous. I am very passionate when it comes to church announcements because just the asthetics of the flyer can get people excited to come. Anyways. You impress me in your mothering, designing, and gospel loving.

The invitations look beautiful. I absolutely love the green (of course) but I’d have to say that my favorite part is the manger scene and star. It looks so elegant and classy.

Love the invites. Your ward is so lucky to have you in charge of their flyers. I hope they appreciate all the time and effort you put into making beautiful invitations.

I was thrilled to get an actual invite today at church. You outdid yourself once again. I can’t imagine how much time and effort you poured into these invites. I appreciate it.

Jane – thanks for saying hi! And you’re so right about people getting more vamped up about an activity if the invite appeals to them.

Dana – I felt so bad last year when there weren’t enough invitations for the enrichment committee.

Lindy – recognize the ribbon? ;P

Mimi – bodacity? Seriously? I’ve never heard a more awesome word!

And thanks everyone for the positive comments. I’m never around long enough to see how the sisters react to them in relief society. Hope they liked them.

WOW. Your ward goes all out. Or is it you that goes all out? Gorgeous.

Are those letterpressed? Do you have a press? I’m thinking of making letter-press recipe cards and calling cards, but I’m at a loss for a printer.

Jenn, its been a long, long time! Remember us, the Radmachers from SLO 1? Ryan wrote us on our blog a little while back, but we’re a little slow. I love, love, LOVE your blog! So cute! To answer Ryan, David’s still doing music – we moved back to the central coast – are in the country of AG now and david opened his own recording studio in an old art-deco theater in Guadalupe. So if Ryan ever wants to lay down some piano… :) Your boys are so cute. I love that you named your son Kai…our 5 year old is Jonah Kai. Anyway, it was good to find you – you’re awesome!
