In anticipation of lots of beach time over July 4th weekend, I went ahead and purchased a Holga (early b-day present, tee hee!). Huge difference between film and my altered, wannabe digital files below. In fact, these shots just make my fake ones look downright cheesy, and now I feel as if I had food stuck in my teeth but no one said anything. The old-fashioned way is much better, don’t you think?

Yay! These are great. I love the quality of depth. I’m looking forward to seeing more.

I love my holga. My only problem is that sometimes I forget to take off the lens cap. :(

Is Holga the name of that really large woman sitting in the sand behind Ryan?

Any tips on where to develop 120 film? I’ve looked but don’t want to shell out $20 for 12 exposures.

Redaccordian: I was very fortunate in finding a photography studio down the street from me that processes 120 film. This guy charged me only $8/per roll of 12, and $6 to put my two rolls onto CD. I didn’t get prints. Now those are really pricey at .90 cents a photo

Kristen: Holgas are these cheapy, toy-like cameras known for light leaks, blurry images, and vignetting.

Dana: It was neat running into you! Sorry my attention was divided on my meandering kids. One day, we’ll have to do a SoCal artist/crafter/blogger meetup!

I love your pictures! Ever since my sister-in-law bought the Diana camera from OU, I’ve been thinking I need another film camera. Preferably one with cool imperfections like a holga or pinhole cameras.

What fun! New “toys” are the best! And a prefect place to give it a go… at the beach! I do miss film just a little!
