That all-too-familiar tug and pull

September 22, 2009

Was catching up on some blog reading I’ve gotten behind on, when I came across this sweet post from one of my absolute favorite blogs, Smitten Kitchen.

As much as I told myself to not go there, I couldn’t help feeling those motherly pangs for a needy little newborn that would snuggle into the crook of your neck and make teeny-tiny snorts. (If I had said the last part of that sentence aloud, it would’ve come out two octaves higher than normal.)

Looking at these old pictures helps relieve the aching a little bit.

Ok, now my ovaries are aching. How darling they are. They do grow up so fast.

Oh yes, nothing like gorgeous infants to make you want more. Why does it go so fast? I think you need some baby snuggling to get your baby fix…or you need to have another!

Oh, Jasper is still so sweet and cuddly at almost 11 months. I hope it never goes away…

We are done for sure with babies, are you?

sometimes I think if I had all the money in the world — and a nanny — I could have a third baby. But, alas it is not in the cards. I’m still doubtful I have enough patience and where-with-all to take care of two kids, three is a tall-task.

Those are some sweet pictures, and your boys are so so beautiful!

I gotta say, I’m having almost the opposite since I’m so pregnant right now. It is more like “Can I handle this again?? What is this one going to be like? Am I ready for this?”
