The Arches Were Calling

February 10, 2009

We are a family that gets McNuggets cravings every now and then.

We give in when the baby wants some fries.

And we sometimes don’t dress our age.

We are honest when we ask for a cup for water. And get only that,
even when the soda machine is within arms-reach.

And we get very excited over Happy Meal toys.

And I will end this by saying that McDonald’s is wrong. WRONG! It represents everything I’m against; crummy 90’s pastel decor. A clown that was probably the inspiration for “It” (I accidentally caught parts of the movie when I was little and am ruined). Self-maximizing corporate execs who care only about the bottom line vs. quality. Trans fat. Beef tallow. Ugh! I mean, yum! I mean, gross…

Maybe that’s what makes it so good when we do give in. Because McDonald’s is pure sin. McDonald’s sundaes, I heart you forever.

McDonalds IS wrong…agreed! But, oh how I can get my son to agree to anything if I dangle a vist to McD’s in front of him. SINFUL! (Cute post).

Big nuggets fans now…not so much before when it was questionable. I’ve always loved their fries. No one else does fries like Mickey D’s. Cute pics!

Grandpa also likes McDonalds and introduced me to the Chipolte Chicken Snack Wrap. Yummmm….. My new favorite!

Grandpa is saving the cereal toys for the boys when they come to visit. Sort of like a Happy Meal toy?

I so love chicken nuggets with hot mustard sauce! I once got the best order of nuggets from the King City McD’s while driving through. For about a year after, I HAD to stop every time I went through King City.
They must put “an addictive chemical in it that makes you crave it fortnightly!”

Kate, you crack me up! “Fortnightly”?! That is great. And I didn’t know King City had any redeeming qualities. I’ll have to try theirs whenever we head up north.

Jenn, I’ll have to send you out with Song. He “sneaks” in Mickey D’s practically whenever Ieave him and don’t cook a meal for him. I swear he’s on a mission to try to get Katie to love it. She doesn’t like burgers so he takes her there so they can hae sundaes!

oh, btw King City also has a Starbucks, another redeeming quality — at least for me when we’re on our 9+ hour drive up to the Bay Area.

I heart french fries. We all have our weaknesses. You are all totally adorable and I heart your style and your sweet boys.

    Oh it’s true!

We feel the same about Mcdonalds, which does make it lovely when you allow yourself the “sin” ;-) yummy!
